Hi there, I'm looking to print a large black and white image on a black shirt on a DTG printer. The trouble is, I don't want to print the black as it will look totally different and most likely pretty bad. So my question is, what is the best way to separate and remove the black background? My image is very detailed sort of like this one here:

My image is very much like this with all of the tiny details, the best I can do so far is take out the black with the color select tool or the onOne Mask Pro plugin, but I am still left with a whole bunch of edges etc. I'm certain that there must be a better way to go about this, hopefully I can find some help here.

Thanks
