the ink is fastink 3 from E.Z. and its only two weeks old and shirts were done with a 1440 cartoon single pass and looked very nice after printing and curing.colors were vivid , but i did use a light mist of light garment pretreat because while i was testing i found that the pretreat eliminated bleeding between the black and gold in the logo the thing thats got me stumped is i have a ton of test shirts that i wash all the time and have never had this problem with any color shirt

do another print exactly the same way and do a wash, wait till they bring in the shirts and do a comparison.
Yes, light pretreat helps with the bleeding. But, the washout could be numerous things (ink, curing, pretreat)

remember, ink has a shelf life (color about 12 months, white about 6 months) but you have no idea how long it
was on the shelf when you received it. I highly doubt it was a year, but I have received new white ink before
that was expired.

im on bottles but i have never suffered any of the issues i have read about others on bottles .my machine is very clean and maintained and i keep inks between 3 and 4 oz.
Until now , quality ink is key you don't have to have bagged ink but still need quality ink.

How does the new red handle the white ink underbase? This is also an indicator of bad ink..there has been many instances of bad magenta not being compatible with or without ink

Do a search of the forums regarding the Certified DuPont Resellers, there isn't many that are qualified to sell DuPont, if they aren't selling DuPont and saying they are then its something that should be addressed.

Totally agree with printing and washing a test shirt to have for the comparison. Did you follow the instructions EXACTLY that are on the pre-treat bottle? It has different steps compared to pre-treat for darks.

When the shirts come back, give them the sniff test for spray and wash. I had a police group who bought shirts for tactical games bring 24 shirts back, all had ink peel. They had spray and washed them, left them to soak in the washer overnight. Seems they had used the shirts for practice session on the obstacle course and had ruined them with clay mud.

I replaced them, after all these are the same folks that answer burglar alarm calls!

Hope this helps,

i wash my test shirts all the time just to make sure i am not layering pretreat. and yes the light garment pretreat i have says to put two layers of a fine mist on shirts and thats what i do, they are not soaked but just damp.
maybe the shirts had starch or something on them so with the next batch i will pre wash to see if there is a difference.
