HELLO ALL

i have a screen printing business and have been doing the printwork for Wet Effect | Custom Rashguards | Custom Board Shorts | Custom Fight Shorts -*Home - they custom manufacture gear - rash guards, fight shorts, board shorts, etc. and i do the printing. i would be happy to introduce anyone interested, or provide any relevant information needed as i have been dealing with them for years - they deal with blank goods, custom printed goods, and also embroidered goods. these are tricky fabrics to deal with, so if you are trying to take on the task of printing yourself i strongly recommend to proceed with caution. we fortunately, have perfected the process through much experimentation. . .

none the less - these are very good products - i highly recommend them.

also. . . if you need an endorsement - these rash guards/fight shorts/board shorts/etc are all over the place. they have been featured in the ufc, strikeforce, and many other organizations. these companies use them: american top team, fight it out, brawl and maul, legacy fit, and cyborg's own line - just to name a few. they are also used by the yachting and resort communities - the largest privately owned yacht in the states (cakewalk) uses them too. we've even done a collabo with metallica. i have been watching the travel channel and seen them pop on several occasions - kiteboarding school of maui, kiteboard cafe, and also surf life saving autralia. . .

these are very good products - i have been a first hand witness to see this business explode - and also to see all of the customers are reordering on a regular basis.

again, check it out here: Wet Effect | Custom Rashguards | Custom Board Shorts | Custom Fight Shorts -*Home

thank you for lending your ear

i don't have much experience at all with direct-to-garment printing, let alone doing it on tricky fabrics. my understanding is that since it is such new technology it still hasn't quite been perfected across the board. i know the light colored cotton tees are superb, the dark colored cotton tees are coming right along, but i would avoid doing it on a touchy expensive fabric such as a rash guard or a team uniform/jersey.

were you having issues on both the shorts and the tops? i use different ink blends on the rash guards as i do on the shorts.

if you have no other choice (i.e. no manual or auto presses), than i would ask wet effect for some fabric swatches - which they have plenty of - in order to test out some different inks and ink formulas without the risk of damaging an expensive garment. look into additives.

your ink selection will be the most important part here, so shop around and see if you can get some samples from different manufacturers. you'll need to find something with a super high opacity, extreme flexibility, and excellent resistance to dye-migration and ghosting.

if you don't have any luck, by all means we would be happy to help take care of the printing for you - the items can be ordered through either wet effect or myself.

don't hesitate to ask if you have any more questions - i ran the gamut when testing/perfecting the printing process on these fabrics.

you can reach roberta or shelby at [email protected] or call them at 1 (866) 565-5350 - they are really great people to work with and can quickly and easily answer any questions that you may have. unfortunately, i cannot give you their wholesale pricing as i am a completely separate business that does all of their screen printing. if you are interested in obtaining prices for my printing services i would be happy to send that along, but your best bet will be to start with a quick phone call or email. they are readily available and wonderful to deal with. plus, their products are of very good quality (albeit a bit tricky to print on due to very specific ink/screen requirements and tight curing latitudes). there are plenty of other options on the market, but the others aren't nearly produced in the same set of standards.
