I have currently started doing some race car shirts for some local drivers. I am looking to see what the going rate for artwork is. I will be printing from a DTG printer, doing low volume. Any help would be appreciated.

Most will charge by the job. Those race guys wants very specific, highly detailed stuff.

If the printer makes the art available in more than just screenprint form i.e. poster art etc.

then the racer should be willing to pay $300 - $900 for art thay can repurpose for calendars, frisbees, posters, mugs, etc.

The client is paying for art they can use for the full season.....shirts are just part of it.

R you, or should say you and the artist working from photos of the specific car? Are you looking for someone to create designs related to certain types of racing and then pluging in the specific car? Little vague about what you really want.. look at my website at www.art4tees.com.. I do a lot of cars and trucks... email me direct at [email protected] maybe we can work something out..

Not to sound smug, but it would kind of depend on what level the art you're producing is on. I've seen a very wide range of art quality on race shirts from mediocre to amazing. Other variables can be: what the customer is looking for - ie: a simple drawing or a highly detailed full on illustration, what type of car it is (a late model is much less labor intensive to draw than a sprint car, how many cars in the design, sponsor logos that will most likely have to be recreated, the budget of the class of car it is (an entry level division or a top tier division). I've done racing shirts from anywhere from $250 to $850 depending on the situation.
