Hi everyone,

This thread and the people on here have served me extremely well in the past and I thank you all for your contributions. However I am in a bit of a pickle. I'm struggling to get my printer to play nice. It seems to be printing fine, but then it seems to 'slip' and then starts print off from where it should be. I must say it is only slightly but creates like a 3D look to the print. After it has completed printing I'm left with the above error code. I have a few deadlines this week and I am really starting to panic. If anyone can provide any advice that would be greatly appreciated!

Many thanks in advance.

Lee

Have you cleaned the encoder strip, also worth cleaning or replacing the blank strip on the box and cleaning the sensor that sits in the head carriage that reads the black strip on loading

Clean the Encoder and Teeth of the Belt roller (the normal weekly cleaning) and you should be fine.
Thanks for the replies. I've done the above but now it's says service req. 0001001D. I'm definitely at panic stations now :(

Ok after cleaning the encoder, with alcohol, you made sure the encoder is it the correct location of the reader.

Also check that the carriage moves freely (with your hand). If you have not recently put oil on the wheels and grease on the rail, do that.
In my field service manual it says what all the error codes are for my Epsons. Not sure if you can get a service manual for your printer? Might shed some light.
Thanks. I think because I'm panicking I'm not thinking clearly - encoder needs to be in front of the sensor - I've cleaned the strip and moved the printer carriage back to where it sits normally above the capping station. Is that right? Seriously appreciate the help!
The encoder should be in the middle of the reader.
