Currently building an eCommerce site but I was curious in the products.

1. do you guys list a type of shirt with ALL the colors in it?
2. List a type of shirt with certain colors to not over populate the product?
3. Each shirt color is its own product?

if you have another suggestion let me know please.

how do you decide?? standard colors?? what?
Mostly by the design. If my design is going to be red, then i won't place it on a green or blue shirt (or visa-versa) I also like to have my inventory ready for shipping so as not to have to order a whole lot of blues, reds, pinks, grays, etc I limit each design to just a few colors that would match the design itself. But like I said, some designs only go with one color shirt so I only offer the one. I actually PREFER this method because it's less expensive overhead BUT supply and demand sometimes takes credence.

Moreover, I think the more you "limit" your colors the more valuable your design becomes. When I see a tshirt design that can be made into 50 diferent colors I immedidately think, "so there is really nothing too special about this design" (but that's just me). PLUS, as a consumer if I only have a few choices then it's easier for me to decide which one I want and if it's easier for me to decide then it's more likely I will buy.

From a SEO standpoint there is really no benefit from listing each shirt color as a different product. I would argue, that in most cases, it can be a detriment. It can be incredibly difficult to make each item look "unique" in the eyes of the search engines and therefore create tons of duplicate content.

For the consumer it can also be a problem. The less clicks/hoops/etc to a conversion the better, IMO. The more clicks/choices the less likely you'll make a sale.
