hello i just ordered a flash dryer about 3 weeks ago and i have just received it form ryonet. the heating element has a hard rubber/plastic like attached to it. when i tried to operate it it smelled like burning rubber is that normal or do i need to remove it before use? tnx alot i have attached a picture of the underside of my flash to better see my question. tnx alot.

you dont have to remove it or better you cant remove it..that is part of the flasher..it helps heat to distribute evenly..just plug your flasher and your ready to go..goodluck!

Every new BBC flash dryer will smell like that and there may be also some steam coming out of it. After about 15 minutes the smell and fumes should disappear.

thats right..actually you may consider it as a good sign of having a brand new unit..many other electronic devices with heating element experience the same when used for the first time..

ok tnx alot sirs.. it just gave me a fright. because this is my fisrt time to ever see a flash dryer up close and try to operate it. haha!
