I have the CIS installed on my Epson 1400. Isnt the ink level suppose to always read full? My levels go down as I use it. And although my black ink is still almost full.

It is reading that it is almost empty. Do I just reset with the button or let it be? I am afraid if it reads that it is out the printer will not print, Like before I got the CIS.

No, modern CIS work just like the normal chips on the carts, they go down. You disregard them with a CIS. You watch vigilantly if you are using refillable cartridges.

Your refiller should have provided you with instructions on how to deal with this, but generally once you get an empty cart error, you press the ink-exchange button (keep pressing it until the printhead is in the exchange position, often it will stop halfway across the printer on the first press), then flip the switch(es) on the CIS chip off and on, or push it if it's a pushbutton.
