Very new to the entire t'shirt business, I have a question on what are the legalities of using images of athletes, artist and even certain properties(toys, action figures) on tshirts.

I would image there would be a licensing fee with most, correct or is some stuff allowed?

Any info on this would be helpful.

Image rights differ from country to country. There are no specific image rights in the UK or some other countries.

There are very strict image rights in other countries, such as the USA (probably plenty of lawyers, too:D).

Some image use can fall into the catagory of 'parody', but that is complex and subjective.

Since you are new the the t shirt biz you have time to change your business model. As mentioned, it can be dicey, just don't do it and you will be fine.

most, probably all the ones you are thinking of using, celebrities/athletes have a team looking for infringement

certain countries will not only fine/imprison for this type of theft, but take all your equipment as well

unless it is true parody (and you should have a lawyer review your work before selling)
