I've been seeing people mention that they were given this advice a lot lately. While there are laws being discussed regarding tracking taxes on interstate commerce, as far as I know you still have zero responsibility for interstate sales tax, you are only responsible for it if you, say, go to a convention in that state even though you are not a resident. This is incredibly annoying for states (like Florida ) that do not have a Temporary Vendor's License. It is 100% the customer's liability to pay sales tax, if they are buying for personal use then there's really nothing that can be done about it right now. If they're buying it for business use, if they get audited they will get caught for not having reported and paid "use tax".

Anyone else want to chime in on this?

Also check your state laws regarding counties with different sales tax. In Florida, I believe that you have to charge the right sales tax for each county and report it/send it to them somehow, though most people I know do not do this.

This is very correct. I am from Florida and do it the right way and it is very taxing (pun intended) to get al the zip codes/counties with the correct sales tax. I believe most people just charge the highest rate in Florida and that is illegal. I personally asked Tallahassee if this was a preferred method for internet sales and the guy gave me a resounding "no!" So I bit the bullet and manually typed in every tax. Once they are all in, it's not sooooo bad.. but they do change every year :(

Hey there, I'm also in FL and trying to sort out this tax mess and hoping you could give me some insight. So as the gentlemen above mentioned, if I'm shipping orders out of FL am I not responsible for the S&U tax? I'm only responsible for inter county sales tax if selling within FL?

Appreciate you, this stuff's mad confusing
