Quality blanks in China?

4683 Views 9 Replies 7 Participants Last post by  EPESY
(My first posting)... I have a new T-shirt start-up company in China and I really want to use quality blanks for all of the shirt designs. American Apparel would be the obvious choice if I was back in the States. However I am in China and would like to use Chinese materials for the new company.

Do you know of any comparable AA-type, T-shirt manufacturers in China or even Viet Nam that I can contact?

A follow-up question is: Does AA export to China? Has anyone had this export experience?

Thanks for sharing your experience. I love this site for all of it's practical help and professional way that questions are handled.

Hi Dan,

There are many reputed garments manufactories, there aren't 2 tees who are totally same, and no t-shirts will look special enough, same or similar fabric material but do some creative work on cutting designs, so it will be easy for you to find right suppliers in China. Find one who is close to your location, except the manufacturing tees, and meanwhile can provide printing and embroidery service will be better. Because a lot of printing and embroidery will be better to finish on cutting pieces fabric, it is easy to find a one who are capable of doing all jobs altogether.

Best luck with you in China.

Bill
Help me to understand you correctly. You are saying that China has suppliers that can create the T-shirts from fabric, and there is not need to print them on blanks? If this is true then I would create the designs to be printed on the fabric and then they would be made into T-shirts? What about the quality issues, are there quality companies here? I am unaware of these resources, can you help me with getting this information in more detail?

That would be a possibility that I had not thought of. Do you know that such suppliers exist in China?

We live in Western China and all the textile companies are on the East Coast, like GuangZhou etc. I don't see any way around having to ship them West. Are there textile companies within China's Inland?

Thanks for your help Bill?
we have production offices in china so we know the market well, but i am sure you know that most of the Gildan, Hanes etc all are made in Asia. It would be best to source similar factories in china that specialize in this. I have also heard that Gildan is selling into the China market this might also be an option

Hi Dan,

I didn't mean exactly as you said above,it seems you need all-over printing if you need factory to print on fabric for your designs and get the fabric cut into a t-shirt. Normally, most of factories print on cutting fabric panels(e.g: a logo printed on sleeve, then print on sleeve panels before sew it into t-shirt). In a simple word, the design could be printed on a finished blank tees, also can be printed on cutting fabric panels(most used in our factory workshop). There will be a way out as long as you find your potential supplier, and pass them your thoughts and ideas, to work together and develop it out as per your creative design insights.

What about the quality issues, are there quality companies here? I am unaware of these resources, can you help me with getting this information in more detail??
About the quality, has to be inspected by yourself in person, give some ideas of you to them, and ask some printing samples for inspection.

Where are you living? Chengdu, Shan'xi, Zhengzhou?Qinghai? Western China is huge, there are some manufacturers in Zhengzhou, and Hubei, of course as you said, most manufacturers are in coastal cities, like Guangdong(ShenZhen, Guangzhou), Zhejiang, Shandong, Jiangsu. Some of them moved their production line to inland China, so there is a chance for you to find one, you must have some local Chinese friends? You can search some useful information by entering into the search website °Ù¶Èһϣ¬Äã¾ÍÖªµÀ (Chinese biggest search website), find those suppliers who is around your living place. Quality goods always exsit no matter where are you, just wait you to find.

Let me know if you need further help.

Thanks again for your help. The idea of printing on t-shirt panels is very appealing. I would assume that the manufacturing would supply you with templates for these panels?

Do these manufacturers have big minimums when it comes to quantities? This may be a limiting factor for me since we are just starting out.

Thanks, Bill
Are you still interested in supplies in China. Am familiar with some suppliers. Based in Beijing.
Hi,

Are you still interested in sourcing this product? The company I work for is based in Hangzhou, Zhejiang and has contacts with many factories in the region. If you are trying to source your Tees from these areas then private message me, I might able to help you.

Hello,

I've started my printing business in China recently (heat transfer-vinyl, inkjet printing, and screen printing) and been looking for high quality blanks (Western/EU standard quality).
Have tried several companies through alibaba, but have not been able to find the right quality yet.
I want to export to the west, including the USA, UK, Canada and to some other European countries, so quality is the main issue.

Please can you share with your experience; recommend any sources/links/contacts of the manufacturing companies that you have actually used/seen or even heard of.

Any advice is highly appreciated, and I thank you all for your attention.
