ProWorld packages

Hey all. I am a new guy in the heat press world. I have been doing research and found the ProWorld package for 1700 bucks. I am not doing this full time and it will be from home. Anyone ever buy the package deal or similar to get off the ground? It seems like it comes with quite a bit of stuff for the money.

do more research before you make your discission. Once you invest that money you have to commit yourself and it would really suck to spend $1700 for a package that cost $900 else where. There are so many companies out there that have great starter kits, best thing to do it search all the companies here on the fourms website and then make your discisson. When i started i went with the first company i found out about becuase i was so exited to get started in the industry, i later found out about so many other options that it makes me questions what direction i couldve went had i did more research. Now im in a postion where i made the best out of what i had and used all my errors as lessons, failures will lead to success if taken the right way. Moral of the story is RESEARCH, RESEARCH, RESEARCH!!! Make a list of companies, compare prices, and go from there!

Thanks Merch. I am continuing on with research. Any recommendations for press, printer, vinyl cutter? I guess these things are what I want to start off with. I am pretty mech inclined so figuring out what needs to be done shouldn't be an issue. I know I can't afford a knight press etc.
BRKS, I have been doing a lot of research on heat presses recently, I'm trying to make a decision on which hat press to get, and have found there are a TON of options, and few reviews available online, that's why i joined up here.

As for a plotter/vinyl cutter I have more experience there and I recommend looking to your local wholesale supplier. I am lucky enough to live in a city with a *large supplier* warehouse that does open houses and generally those come with discounts & they also often offer used equipment. I know its not the best recommendation, but I suggest finding a local wholesaler and spend some time getting to know them, it got us a good deal on a used Roland and a used Graphtec plotter which, while they were both more than we expected to pay, have more than made up for the investment with ease of use and quality & speed of output.

Thanks Nerd...LOL!! Love that movie.

I am actually fairly close to Geo Knight, maybe take a ride there to see what deal they offer. as for distributors locally I think you are right. I will research around. Internet makes things physically far away seem closer but not always the best result. I am actually shocked not one rep from any of the distributors have chimed in. Pro World, Heat press nation etc. since they are trying to move product.

Don't be. It's against our rules and they can get banned for it. http://www.t-shirtforums.com/forum-information/t1173.html

You want to hear from end users anyway. Not some spiel from someone trying to sell something. If you want a sales pitch, you can email them directly.

Ah thanks Splat!! I agree with end users giving feedback. Just thought companies would suggest something that may be a good deal is all. It is good to know, didn't want to lure them in for ban.
Depending on your local area and how quickly you want to get started, it's probably worth looking up the ISS (Imprinted Sportswear) and NBM shows. The major suppliers usually all have booths and it's a good way to see the equipment in action. Keep in mind that their goal is to sell you their stuff. However, you can also price packages/show specials OR purchase demo equipment for a significant discount. It's also a way to meet other customers and, if you're friendly enough, maybe even make some worthwhile contacts or get some good feedback.

Since the ISS Long Beach show has just ended, some distributors might have "demo" models at a good discount.
