If I were to approach a brick and mortar facility to attempt to have them carry my product, what are the typical product markups? I know that this would vary from product line to line and the retail price.

If I sold my shirts online for $15-25, depending on design, what would a typical asking price be? Or even a range? I'm just trying to ballpark it so that if I propose a price I don't get laughed at or even shorted potential income.

100% is the gold standard in retail. Ideally more, occasionally less for the right product, but 100% is common.

Of course, the larger the retailer, the higher percentage they'll want.

That seems steep for t shirts? So, if I sell my shirts for $15-25 then I should be selling them to retailers for $1.50-$2.50... That doesn't add up, and I know my competition sells right around $17.99 retail, and I doubt they sell to stores for $1.79...

That would be 1000%, not 100%.

$25 retail = $12.50 wholesale, for example.

Duh..... I knew that... For some reason I added a 0... I know that 1000% is the standard with most jewelry stores. My wife and I picked out a wedding ring for me at Fred Meyer Jewelers (second largest jewelry store in USA, but goes by different name out east). I then found an online wholesaler... FM= $469. Online Wholesaler= $29.99 + shipping...

:pI thought about buying a backup just in case :p
