Hello, I would like to know if you're taking orders from your web site, how do you know when someone has placed an order?. Do you get an email of that order or do you have to keep checking your web page. Is there a system that lets you know if an "order is up"?.

Thanks.

If you use a shopping cart program, such as Cube Cart or OSCommerce, you have an administrator control panel which tells you about any new orders. Stores all of your customer info in a database on your web server. Sure makes things easier than trying to keep track of orders yourself.

Yes, most online shopping carts (cubecart, oscommerce, zencart, etc) will send you an email notification when the order is successful (payment received, etc).

Then you can either use the email to ship the item, or you can login to your website shopping cart administration area to get more details about the order and customer (and maybe mark the order status as "shipped"). CubeCart has a great order status feature.
