I recently placed an order of 300 T-Shirts to to be 2 color silk screen printed on Am App 50/50 blend Ts.

10 of the shirts reproduced very rough and bumpy. I told the company i wasnt happy with the portion of the job.

They said they would only reprint the shirt on 100% cotton for me. This sounds a little BS to me.

Can someone please verify if printing on 50/50 is hard to pull off and is not recommended, or are they trying to pull the wool over my eyes?

Thanks

I bet you anything they didn't mix the ink well before slapping it on the press, and the ink wasn't clearing the mesh well on the first shirts off the press...were the shirts all the same size? IF you don't stir the ink and it sits around awhile, it can get a little harder to use since it isn't flowing properly. Your beef is reasonable, the first imprint should look just like the last, as should all the ones in between.

If they had a brain in their head, they'd take the 10 you complained about and heat press 'em for about 5 seconds with a sheet of kraft paper over the ink. I occasionally have to do that, and while it's not a real solution to a problem that should've been solved on-press, it salvages a job. And 50/50's shouldn't be any more prone to rough prints than 100% cotton. They're shoveling the shinola your way with that claim.

The company that printed your shirts should replace or fix the shirts that were not up to your standards. If 50/50 garments were hard to print manufacturers wouldn't sell so many. If there was an issue with dye migration and different series of ink should have been used. Good luck on getting this rectified.
