Hello,

just wondering if anyone would be able to help me.

i have a heat press, along with an Epson sx235w printer and durabrite ink (ive read these inks are pigment based) and will work on transfer, and i have kisscut paper.

ive printed my text onto the paper (shiny side, and not the side with all the lines and dots on it), then i have taken it to my press.. placed it face down onto tshirt.. applied med-low pressure for 7 seconds at 180... hot peel off.. and nothing... my text just stays on the paper.
after a couple of failed attempts i started to play around with the settings, took it hotter, pressed it for longer, higher pressure.. all to no success.
ive ordered some new paper and new ink system and am waiting for it to arrive, if when it comes it still does not work.. im going to be totally lost!!

can anyone tell me where im going wrong please?

Thanks all!

What brand paper are you using and what heat press. Every transfer paper is a little different and requires different things such as higher or lower temp, Also they usually what kind of pressure, some do require heavy pressure. Lots of variables to look at here before being able to answer your question.

thanks for all your messages.

But I have tried all different heat settings, I turned it down (did nothing), then turned it up to highest setting.. (and it just burnt the tshirt and burnt the paper).
No ive not contacted kisscut yet.
new paper and ink has arrived so im about to try those to see if it makes any difference.

ok... Looks like the problem is the paper.

Just tried one on some new paper with the same ink.. and it worked.

has anyone used kisscut before?
the kisscut paper I used is glossy.. whereas the new paper i ordered has more of a matt finish. the gloss just seems to either melt and go funny.. or looks unchanged!

what paper do u use? what would you recommend?

Kisscut is the self weeding inkjet paper, we've tested a lot of the same type of paper because the concept is awesome but the print doesn't come out well on garments so we've never moved forward with reselling that type of paper. The only way is still to contour cut and heat apply with the better papers on the market.
