A friend wants me to print a logo of his band on womens boy shorts/underwear. it would be 95% cotton 5% spandex and white ink, black garment. should i add any soft hand or stretch additive? any other little things i should know before doing the job?

Also, what kind (shape) of platten do i need to build to print on these boy shorts? could i use a long sleeve platten?

Is it Womens and Boy Shorts/Underwear or something weird?

I really don't think we should advacate clothes like that. We should start having them wear Habits or clothes that only show their face.
the customer called them boy shorts. im not sure what the proper term is called.
That's just too Weird.
you my friend are weird!

It depends where are you printing and how big is the logo.
If you a printing a left chest size logo, you van do it on the sleeve platen (if the logo will be off-center). If the logo will be on the back (or front centered) of the BOY SHORTS, you might use child size pallet.
Which type of logo your going to print ? is this some kind of monogram ? or company brand logo? See some examples in the market on short sleeves and other products which you want and copy their pattern.
i have never printed these before. is there a seam that might get in the way? if so, is it on the front or back side?
seam should be on the sides
use spandisol with the ink.
I print with waterbased inks on Bella intimate apparel. There were two styles, Shorties and Thong. They printed beautifully. I used a small platen I had that I used for baby garments. I did stretch them just slightly to print.

i have some stretch additive. will that work? or do you need something that will bind with the spandex? the material is 95% cotton 5% spandex
I would like to know as well, as I am about to be running an entire line of 'intimate' garments
If that is the bella boy short, we print a bunch of those. We use a regular pallet. No issues

I use 60/40 blend boyshorts and am having a heck of a time finding a pallet to fit them. Ive been using an infant pallet and placing them carefully. I sell A LOT of boyshorts and panties with logos and sayings on them, it's not as weird as everyone is saying it is. I do a LOT of band gear and panties are a BIG thing these days.
