Hello everyone

I am new in this forum and i would like to start a sublimation business ..

I see that there is cartridges which are refillable and there are the CIS solution which one is the better in terms of maintenance clogging etc ? i would like to use an epson 1400

I would like also to use inkjet as well in the same printer like one day i am going to do my sublimation and the other day i want to install my inkjet cartridges and the next day putting my sub. cartridges back and so on , Is this possible ? and is it going to waste inks ? or get clogs in this way ??

Thank you so much !

Get a printer for each type of ink. Most bulk in systems are garbage and only create problems. The only one that seems to have potential and gets good feedback here on the forum is the Cobra Ink Systems bulk system. You can't add it to the printer, you have to buy a printer from them with the system installed by them.

.:: Cobra Ink Systems::. This is where the term CIS began

I don't have one so I can't personally say for sure it works. I use refillable carts.

Definitely do not switch out inks in your printer. That won't end well. Buying two printers, as has already been recommended, is a better solution.

As for the 1100 and the CIS system, we set one up in our test lab here and it worked well for us. We even let it sit for a few days and got it running again without any fuss. We haven't run tons and tons of prints on it, so I can't speak to how it would do with daily printing, but it seemed to work well for us.

Welcome Noni,

Yes, u will need two printers. It is very unheathly to switch the inks back and forth. If you do a lot of printing, I would not recommend the refill carts. You would spend a lot of time refilling them. There is an Easy Flow system for the 1400.

I recommend checking into the Ricoh GX 7000. Price comparsion wise... the two are about the same by the time you buy both printer and ink. You will get alot more prints out of a set of cart vs the Easy Flow system. You can print up to 13" x 19" paper if you purchase the bypass tray.

Please fill free to call me if you have any questions.

Do you mean that the Ricoh is better than epson ? and are you referring to the sublimation or inkjet ? because in sublimation i am interested in printing on mugs only no t shirts so if i am gonna buy 2 printers the sub one will be a small one ..

Talking about printing on mugs whats is better in terms of finished product, durability , maintenance , cost : Sublimation or laser Decals ??

Thanks again to all of you
