Interesting concept, bummer it didn't work... Was it even close to working? You said the white wasn't opaque enough. Were you doing this with dye based ink or pigment ink? I wonder if that would make a difference.I tried white ink as under base but it did not work. I dedicated one printer with all the cartridges filled with white ink. First I used another inkjet printer with regular ink to print the image. Then I used the printer with white ink to print the under base over the image on the transfer paper. I did not care if the registration is off. I just wanted to try if the combination will work. The result was big fat zero. The under base has to be really opaque to make it work. Even having four cartridges full of white ink and ICM turned off to print full blast, the print was still not opaque. Doing multiple pass did not work either. The transfer paper turned to mush. The end result? I ruined a printer. I spent my hard earned $30.00 on a refurb inkjet printer and wasted it.
When you said printer that prints white ink did you mean DTG? If so why introduce an intermediate transfer paper (JPSS) in the mix when DTG prints directly to the shirt and works without extra step? The DTG print is soft and vibrant as it is.

Looks like you took one for the team...
Thanks for trying, Bill
You might want to try water based screen print opaque ink and sprinkle some powder adhesive. Let it cure overnight or put the transfer under the heat press without closing the press if you have a swing away or similar type of press (not clam shell) to cure the opaque. If that works then buy EZ print kit to make a screen of the shape of the artwork. By the way JPSS can be cold peel. That might help with creatix. However, the image will be stiff.Lnfortun,
I sprayed the transfer after printing with a coat of Krylon then pressed it on a black shirt.
Worked but not really opaque enough .
Tried again with a heavier coat,Muddy mess
Tried creatix opaque white, wouldnt transfer at all.
This was with a paper I was trying ( has blue back)
Think I'll give it another go with JPSS
I can see a possible use for certain designs on darker shirts.
