Is there a setting in Print Pro you can use to print with white only on different transparencies (greys)? Occasionally I get black and white artwork which require a second pass of colour to imitate the greys. It would be nice to do these on one pass. From the results of a single pass white layer I'm not sure it can be done. Either the solid whites would not get enough coverage or the greys would come out too bright...?

I have used the white highlight in the rip to print white and color in the same pass. It works great for most applications, unless like you mentioned, that there is a larger area of solid white. I use this method for most everything that doesn't need an underbase for the colors.

I had a similar issue, adjusting the "white ink under black" setting (dtg rip pro v.04) can help get some different effects as well as cut down ont the amount of white ink used

you can achieve some of these results with setting "color layer auto mask w/ black background"

it will pick up shades of grey with the white ink

can also dry "white layer only".
this can do the same thing, but you sometimes have to reverse all your colors
