If you mean you want to do transfers for dark shirts...
Pigment ink and 3g or jet opaque 2 paper.
and the 7210 is fine.
People in the US like cobra inks pigment ink.

If you mean actual vinyl then you need to look into a veracamm or something like that which is designed for solvent or eco solvent inks.
A 7210 will not work with solvent inks, the ink will melt many parts as well as solvent inks need heaters to heat the vinyl to the correct temps.

If you are talking new, the cheapest I've seen is around $6K and they go up very quickly for solvent based printers.

Thanks for this information

6k!?!? wow, so theres is absolutely no cheaper printers for the home hobbyist? holy moly
The 2 cheapest new solvent printers I've seen are the Roland BN20 or the Mutoh 628. Both are $6K or more... if there is any out there that are cheaper, I'm sure we all would have heard of them by now.

The cheap printers we use every day will not hold up to the solvents. Anything that comes in contact with the solvent inks has to be made differently and that costs money. If/when the manufacturers who are selling the much higher priced equipment think they can make money selling something cheaper to a niche market, I'm sure they will come up with something. In the meantime, it's a gravity issue - it annoys you but there isn't anything you can do about it...

welp..guess ill go back to thinking about JPSS :(

since bestbuy has the wf7210 for sale @$150, which inks and refil carts are recommended? should i even consider dark(black) shirts an option as ive heard the 3g isnt really that great and stick to my reg vinyl and cutter for darks...i just paid someone 10 bucks to print a 4inch diameter logo o_O
The only 'cheap' solution is buy your own screen printing press and learn from there... After going to ISS-AC recently, I'm considering buying a white toner laser but still looking at all the options... even still, it's looking to be $3K and up to start and I'm not 100% convinced yet it is a viable option.
mehh screen printing seems like too much stuff to buy(and messy) without enough room just to learn if i want to do full color detailed transfers when i could just buy a wf7210, ink&carts and JPSS or 3g...
As an owner of a Roland VS540i I can tell you its a lot to start out with. You might want to consider going sublimation to create full color designs. It's affordable, versatile with lots of products to create. Downside is you use poly and blend shirts to use it. I had a BN20, it was a giant ink waster, overly frequent cleanings. Used more ink than my 54 inch!
It's been over a year, does anyone have any updates on affordable eco solvent printers?
