Hey everyone, hope all is good.

I've been screenprinting for a good 4 years now and have worked for a few companies locally and now do my own thing.

But I had someone asking if I could print on silk fabric. (Ex. scarves)

I was just wondering if this is even possible with screen printing? Would you need some kind of ink additive?

I have no idea. lol
Thanks

Printing on silk is usually done with dyes, specifically acid dyes. They can be made into a screen printable ink, but this is pretty specialized.

You could try using plastisol with a catalyst, but I don't know how the adhesion would work. Waterbase would tend to have migration issues.

Another alternative would be to sub-contract it to a digital printer that does silk. I can give you some recommendations for that if you PM me.

Good luck,
