I have an order coming in with a one color (orange) on white 100% polyester bags. My main concern is the dye sublimination i've been reading about. However, the more I thought about it, it really wouldn't seem to be much of an issue since the worst case scenario would be a lighter orange. Correct?

And I guess my second concern would be melting the bags. I use a flash dyer to cure, which works great for my setup.

Any thoughts/tips?

Should I order IC low cure additive? Or would it not be necessary?

Dye sub would work, but if it's just 1 color, I would screen print (depending on your order quantity I guess). Who wants to wait 40-60 seconds on the heat press with each bag, when you could screen print 4 or more bags in that amount if time.
The curing with a flash dryer scares me, but if you've been using it and it works, I guess you've got your times figured out. Just wash test 1 bag before giving the job out and then you'll know if you need more cure time.
I don't think it's necessary to buy that special ink. The poly bags are pretty durable under heat. It's those nylon ones you have to watch out for. They will shrivel up like a raisin pretty quickly under the heat.
Best wishes!

We dye-sub polyester totes - 20 second pre-press and 40 second press. What we like about this method (the reason we take the extra time) is that the ink never cracks, fades or peels. The image looks great for the life of the product - something that customers really like. And the colors are amazing and vibrant!
