Hello,

So we have a potential client and we need the capability to print on black cotton shirts. I know i could get an expensive white toner printer, but we are trying to see if there are any other options that would work and still be good quality. We have a backer that will help with getting what we need to a point and dont want to ask for 6k just for a printer. Bonus points for picture examples.

Thanks in advance

Probably your best bet for the moment is to use a printing service to get this job done. two reasons, it'll take you some time to learn a process to get the job done, no matter what method you choose, and two, a prospective client isn't a client that you can dosh out ship loads of money on equipment for, or offer discounts on the promise of hundreds of shirts a month.
Much better to make a lower profit to help you on your way than be in big debt at the start.

Dekzion is right. Unless you have the time and $$$, beginning your own service is not simple. It is something to consider long term, as there is a large learning curve and expense involved in getting to a point you can turn out a viable product consistently. The best bet is to go with a fulfillment service, find your cost, and adjust your price accordingly to the client. If they go for it, the product can be delivered quite quickly, you have a happy customer, made a little $$ with no investment, and possibly begin building a client base for the day you can swing a DTG.
