printing

any one do or know anyone that dose this? im looking to get some done but the places i've contacted so far don't do it

are there any extra complications to printing these? how many screens you reckon it would require? 2ish?

thanks in advance for any info.

The amount of screens you need depends on the amount of colours in the design. One for each colour.

What material are the belts made of?

i was looking to get the whole length printed on something similar to this
<img src="http://www.deathwishinc.com/estore/graphics/00000001/dr.black.belt.hi.jpg" width="100" height="100" />
im guessing this will be round about a meter in length, im also guessing screens don't come in metre lengths? hence why im presuming more than one will be needed? i only want one colour.

although might be okay to repeat the image (and use the same screen) not sure about how this work alighning the patterns up tho.

anyone?

The picture you link to has got a repeat in the pattern, I would not think you would need 2 screens, the same screen could be used. In theory a frame could be made to print the whole belt but i would think this would cost extra and sorry but I don't know anyone who could screen print them. You may be able to source them in China but you would need to order a lot.

They could be printed in vinyl on that material, I have done a similar looking material, heavy texture like that.

I'll have a look around the house for an old belt and see if I can press on it.

awesome. don't think im after quantities to justify sourcing from china just yet, but you used to be able to get these from primark for about a quid (they came with a really ****y buckle tho so that might need replacing) im not sure they still sell these tho...
im interested to see how it turns out.
i'll have abit nosey see if i can find any uk suppliers for belts, or if anyone can recomend somewhere that supplies belts small to medium size quantities like the one pictured that would be supper helpfull.

I managed to do a few different vinyls on the one belt. Not sure what it was made of but i suspect nylon as the ends are heat cut.

They seem to bond quite well although the belt was a particularly heavy texture. The texture shows through on all but the red sparkle. I have pulled, twisted and rolled the belts with no visable difference to the vinyls.

Vinyl used was red sparkle, gold foil, black flex, red flex, white flex and a hot fix star. The pressure was too much for the star though and it was squashed into the material with the glue coming out around the side. Less pressure and heat would be better.

The last photo are samples i recieved, some are denim effect and some are carbon effect and because these are already heavy textures i would imagine they will go on better.

Hope this helps.

If its a small one coloured repeated design maybe you could try pad printing it? just a thought.

Thinking about this I would think flock would work well as it is thicker and should not show up the texture as much. I have tried to pick the vinyl off but it aint going nowhere! It's on for good.

Lee,

Thanks for showing the examples with belts, it will definately give other members ideas where they can add further products to their range.
Well done!
