So we've decided to take a job that will have us printing on 100% nylon drawstring bags - having never printed on nylon before, i have a few questions.

the print color is white.

will we HAVE to have a special nylon ink?

i'm familiar with union athletic inks, however we don't have white - we do have a white unistretch ink made by union - suggested for printing on polyester, so would that be enough to simply hold onto the nylon fabric?

is a nylon catalyst an absolute necessity? if so, will it work with just a basic plastisol white?

thank you so much!!!

Yes you must use the catalyst. It hardens the plastisol so it will stay on the nylon. Be sure to pay attn to the ratio of Catalyst and Plastisol. Plus the Cat will harden in the container when left alone. So use small amounts, and test before mass production.

Yes, the catalyst is a must...otherwise after you dry it it will peel right off. Made that mistake. Also, you must remember to clean your screen, squeegee and everything right away if you want to use it again...it will dry and become unusable. It is not too difficult to print on nylon...just different.
