Printing grunge distressed designs, how many colors?

1717 Views 4 Replies 4 Participants Last post by  ScreenFoo
Hello and sorry if it's a dummy question.
I have my designs ready to print by a screenprinter.
My designs are 3-4 color designs and I am thinking of making them look a little bit distressed.
Will that change how many colors the screen printer will have to use?

Thanks
Peter

I won't make any difference to how many colors you print. Depending on your design it will make a difference on how each of your positives will look.

No, it won't add colors, however you'll want to be sure that the screenprinter is set up to do halftone work..

Not all grunge distressed designs use halftones, but if needed it is helpful for the screenprinter to be able to have those skills

Just the really fancy ones. :)

I do non-halftoned distress far more often then really nice, multi screen 'vintage' style distress, but that's just because of cheap customers. There was a great article in Printwear about high-end distress not too long ago...
