I have SIMPLE SEPS and love it-but I do not know what setting I need to use for printing a bitmap photop.

I have converted to bit map and put it greyscale and converted to halftone-but I think my LPI and angle setting need to be adjusted.

Anyone know what I am talking about?

i have not used simple seps before, not sure how it functions.

does it show you what lpi and angle it's using? can you change them?
depending on your shop, what screen mesh your using ect.. you may want to use different settings. the most common settings is either 55lpi or 65lpi depending on the mesh count being used. the angle most commonly used is 22.5 (i personally use 21, the average i've seen is 21 - 22.5)

We are at 45 and 22.5.

At first it was a little too dark. I went to a little lighter, single stroke (black ink, white shirt) and it looks pretty good now.

Thanks for the response.

Simple Seps is really good for seperation and halftones on other things-this was just my first attempt at the photo-not too bad.

I will try that.

The first try was a little "blotchy" in a couple fo spots. When I did not use as much pressure it worked better.

If the halftones were a little finer-that would work better.

I am certainly going to get it right before selling it.....

I am also beginning to do foil. I read someplace a while back that after you do this for a while you start getting better-----I hope that is where we are. We really want to offer things that some other area folks in the are do not do.

Any other ideas of some added value things we can offer?

Hello all, I bought Simple Seps a few weeks ago. Here is my first print. I am using a Epson 4000 I just bought on Craigslist and no rip. This was at 45lpi for the halftones and was pretty happy with the result. I just need to get a new squeegee for pressure issues I think. This was my second burn of the screen. I notice you have to be gentle to get the image out of the screen. I used a hose with light pressure. I am pretty happy with this software.
