I'm not sure what happens but one day the alignment is perfect then not. No banding issues yesterday (lights), today there are.
I've not moved the platen.
Actualy this is the forth time I've been out of alignment since the little prince returned from it's month long stay at the factory (Grrrrr). New print head too.
Oh and do you users out there find huge rubbery deposits on the right side of the printhead, like a thing that after only fifty or so prints is hanging down and the wiper catches it?
I've been a screen printer for years and have only worked on DTG prior to ownership and I havent had this long but... come on....
Anyhow, thanks for any input. Been a member for awhile but have been able to find so much knowledge I've never had to ask a Q
Love the forum, you guys are so nice and helpful

Alignment first: Is this just happening on specific combos of colors? Just between the white and color layer? The only thing that comes to mind that may change is the distance between the head and the substrate. Thickness of the shirt, temp affecting the metal bolts and springs. I have mine really cinched down and I have a foam pad on the top of my glass. When I've noticed anything like this in the past, it was that my platten was slightly out of level. Make sure your machine is flat and stable and that the platten is absolutly level.
Banding: The jets can and do become clogged. Before doing any printing, do a nozzel patten check. This will show exactly where the nozzels are clogged. Sometimes, just doing a head clean will unclog. Nozzel check again and repeat if nessasary. Using the printer infrequently and not doing the maintenance will cause more clooged nozzels.
Rubbery deposits: I know exactly what you mean. When you clean off the head, the worst area is the little "hump" on the right side of the head. When the head spits and the wiper comes across, it will leave ink and "TO" on this trailing edge of the head. As this builds up, it becomes gummier and will worsen. If you let it build up too much you will literally have to scape it off. I would say that for every so many head cleans your machine does (and every night) , you need to get down there and wipe that part of the head off. This is away from the face of the nozzel plate, so you can put some fluid on a microfiber rag and give it a good scrub without worrying about the head. Keep the capping station and wiper very clean. This includes replacing... or at least taking the wiper out and scraping it clean once a week.

Make sure you table is level and locked down tight.

You might want to stock some wiper blades they are about $7.00 for a 2 pack. Also, make sure that you are cleaning the wiper, maintenance station and printhead every day.

What's your recommendation on removing the wiper? Do you remove, clean, and put it back, or do you replace with a new one?

I've been lightly scraping it with my fingernail, but it would be much easier if I could remove it. I didn't see how in the manual...

Not sure if there is a video on the website, and obviously it's very hard to discribe. If you order a spare, you will notice how the rubber "clips" into it's holder. As you look down at the wiper (as it's pointing up) you can see a little slot where you can pry with a very small screwdriver. I find it easier to pull one out, soak it and replace with a clean one. If you do not have a spare, it's much easier to clean, scrape on the out side of the machine.
