Hey! I am in the process of starting a t-shirt printing business for kids- I thought I would be using heat transfer vinyl until I started trying to understand all of this.. wowza! Do I need sublimation printing for HTV or is that completely different? Printer recs? I am considering the Epson 1430 - but have read mixed reviews on the ink process. Any help would be greatly appreciated! I'm a lost puppy right now!

1- Is sublimation paper different than transfer paper?
2- Can pigment ink be used on sublimation paper and HTV?

so I need to get two printers? Maybe the c88 for HTV and the 1430 for transfers?

if you are printing on htv you need a solvent printer, not inkjet

best inkjet transfer paper is jpss for light (really best on 50/50 whit tee's),
the transfer paper for darks leaves alot to be desired (very thick rubbery/papery/crackery hand)

you can get an epson wf7010/7110/7610 for a reasonable price (prints large 11"x17"),
and get two sets of refillable xl carts (one for dye-sub and one for inkjet) from inkjetcarts.us or cobra, etc.
you just have to flush the ink in between cart swaps, but saves you money/space of having two printers

You mean prints large 13"x19" (Super B) size.

i meant you can use the larger 11x17 sheets of jpss, or the opaque papers, instead of the smaller 8.5x17
