I just bought a T-Jet SDT 1000 on Ebay. I've done multiple head cleanings. I've done the nozzle cleaning and the nozzle test. Absolutely no ink comes out on the test or if I try to print something.

However, it acts like it's printing. What can I do to fix this. I am under a terrible time crunch and am yet to see a drop of ink.

Can anyone help?

First of all. Thank you for taking the time to try to help me.

  • There are no burns on the ribbon cable.
  • There is an external fuse above the power cable. But I'm not sure how to find the "motherboard fuse."
it could be two things..

ribbon cable (check for burned marks on either end)

motherboard fuse (need an external fuse holder..if doesn't have one already)

both will need to be replaced anyway to say further problems with your printhead.

So when you bought it did they say it was printing? or had been printing? or been in storage?

Makes a big difference if it was stored with ink in the print head, I know you said you bought it on eBay was it shipped to you or did you go pick it up?

The reason I ask is that if it was stored before you bought it and wasn't cleaned/flushed beforehand you'll probably gonna' need a new print head.

Hope this helps.

I'm with Jon. A used machine will virtually always need a new printhead. Buying one and installing it will eliminate that that from the equation. It may or may not need a new ribbon cable and motherboard or external motherboard fuse (if it doesn't have a fuse in the holder then it probably hasn't been blown before - either that or it has blown too often and the board is toast as it is not possible to exactly match the reaction of the onboard fuse with an above board fuse).

All the above plus check the lines to the waste tank as being clear and if you have one the valve open to the waste tank, Got the same thing once on my T2, forgot to open the valve, the head is unable to syphon ink. To check you can power off move the head to the side off the capping station. If the head is locked put the head in the ink resupply position then power off without resetting it. Anyway put some cleaning fluid in the capping station, go to the waste tank open the cap and see if you can suck fluid from the capping station to the syringe at the waste tank end. If not open valve, check for line cloggs, the last the capping station. Usually a line kinked, clogged or valve. All your back in the shark tank with the above solutions.
