I know this question has been asked many of times but I could not find a current answer. I have been printing for 5+ years and my Epson 1400 has the flashing lights of death. I have tried to reset it and it goes back into trouble. I have taken the ink pads out and washed them and cleaned everything up but nothing seems to work. If anyone could help with my printer problems that would be great but I may need to buy a new one so suggestions would be great. Thanks in advance!

I am leaning toward the Epson 1430. Is this pretty close to the 1400? I do not use an all black system.

Even though I've been printing for about 10 years I still consider myself a newbie because it's a side business. That being said, I purchased a 1430 a little over a year ago and I love it. Lately, I've been having some issues with the print being dark enough, but I think it's because I put regular black ink as a replacement instead of the dye ink some have recommended.
Other than that, I love the printer. I can't compare it to the 1400, but I can tell you that it definitely works for me.
