Welcome to the forum. There are several different types of materials that can be used in the BN 20. Most of them are white to start with; the machine prints the colors of your design and cuts around it. You then weed away the material that will not be applied to the shirt, then place a carrier sheet on top of the printed design. The backing paper is then removed and the design is applied to the shirt once applied the carrier sheet is removed.
There are also clear materials for printing on white shirts and metallic material to give a metallic look to the colors once printed…this unit also can use the metallic inks. Hope this helps answer your question.
