Hi, I have a customer who is ordering an Augusta reversible Micro Mesh Jersey. Delivered it's $8.25 (includes .50). There are 50 of them and on each side, he wants the team name and the player's number. 4 prints and potentially 8 digits per garment. It's for youth at 6" numbers. I gave him a price of $23.45 thinking that is a great deal based on a formula I use and he's trying to get me down to $18.00. I am still so new to this industry and could use your help. Thank you, Michelle

You cant let the customer set YOUR pricing.
Only you can know what you need to make to be profitable.

Most customers want a discount. We price everything at full retail and then show a discount (based on quantity) as a line item so they can see that we already gave them a fair discount already.

When you give a discount you are throwing profit away...make sure you dont discount yourself to the point of having to order from the dollar menu!

If you need the work then re work your numbers and make sure it makes sense to you. Good luck!

Marsha and Tony are correct - you can't let other people dictate your pricing. I don't know whether you have worked with reversibles before - they do require special handling are you screen printing the jerseys, using heat press vinyl or transfers or a combination of both? 15 years ago my price would have been $28.55 - all screened (if work was slow - $24.25)

Thank you for taking the time to reply. I appreciate all the help I can get. If I fully extend what I should be at it would be closer to your highest number. I'll stay firm at my quoted price. Thank you.

And yes, I and doing a combination of screen printing and then heat press the numbers. I made him choose the micro-mesh as I find it easier to print without the bleed though.

Thanks to all!

For that size order our garment mark up is 50%, so $12.75 I hate name and numbers but just numbers is cake. You can get pre-cut numbers from Stahls at $5 for a 10 pack with the numbers 1-10.
So back to pricing, garment $12.75 + $1 (screen charge- you need [email protected]$25 ea., one for each side)+$3 (print charge -$1.50 ea side)+ $3 for number. I'm at $19.75 and having to turn the shirts inside out I might charge a PITA fee of $1.00 ea so $20.75ea
