Ok, so I play a sport ... for fun ... made some shirts before yesterday's game.... one with my name on it.

Big mistake ;)

So... for promotion, I am doing ONE RUN at $15 per shirt with custom names on rear. crazy...??? keep in mind it's for promotion.

White on black - 1 hit print
Logo on front - same on all
Name on rear, about 2" x 12"

So... I can get quite a few names on one screen.... so shouldn't be too crazy.....
Probably only gonna have 20 shirts, so a few screens for names.... 4?
I figure 3 ganged at each end of the screen.
My press is a rear clamp, but I think I can get enough placement to catch 3 per end (6 per screen)
(Now I'm gonna have to build a side clamp attachment) :)

For standard practice though, and future runs, what would you charge for this?
Figuring quantities of 20 to 40

I'm already getting people asking about doing other things...
So I guess it was a good move ;) Picked up some business

I have a 6 color 6 station - radiant flash, conveyor, and can burn my screens in about 6 to 7 minutes, and I have a drying cabinet (Once rinsed, about 15 minutes)
Everything goes pretty quick.

Hahaha... people are going to kill me for saying this, but long ago I used to do names for five bucks a pop and a five dollar screen charge. It was also implied, however that this was with a front logo and a number (sometimes front and back,) and it wasn't something we made a load of money on--it was something that got us all the jobs because nobody else could do it for a reasonable price. Now I'm too busy doing stupid huge quantity to do stuff like that, but sometimes I miss it.

Side clamps are indeed the bees knees for doing that--you'll be sick of adjusting your platens once you get done with that order. :)
I figured people would kill ME for even posting this :D:p;)
For the names, I would use garment vinyl like ThermoFlex or Cadcut Premium.
You mean heat press em?

I don't have a plotter. I would definitely do it that way if I had one, and a shirt press.

I do have a hat press for doing my caps via plastisol transfers I print, but not set up for other stuff.

Definitely something that is on the radar. Soon as I find a good deal on a used plotter, the vinyl stuff is on!

For now... the hard way ;)
I have to laugh when I hear a screen does not have a heat press...I just quoted on names and numbers for about 160 tees that client had printed but printer could not do personalized names and numbers...I will get just under 11.00 a shirt and make way more than printer did....

That's fine, but I don't have a plotter, so I can't cut em out.
And i don't have a shirt press yet.

Not gonna go spend over $1000 for a few hundred dollar job.

I want a plotter bad! Mainly for stickers.
But would be awesome for garments too.
Then of course I need a shirt press.

All in time.

Considering I got going at the very end of January, and I have a 6 color 6 station, two flash dryers, a conveyor dryer, unfiltered blacklight fluorescent exposure unit with vacuum lid and drying cabinet base, all in a short period, I think the pace has been good.

I'll get the plotter next.

Honestly, I know it's killer for clothing too, but 1st and foremost it will expand what I can do more than a shirt press, so it's first.

Anyway.... we're getting side tracked here ;)

$11 per ? JUST for the name? Really????
I can't imagine that is the norm. And, on 160 pieces???

I might need to go buy a plotter tomorrow.... hahahaha.
Oh, yeah, and software to be able to use it
boooooooooooooo

Custom names and 1 or 2 numbers.....I charge 6.50 for a 2" name and 3.50 for 8" numbers...

I mostly do numbers.....Not very many jobs go for names....
