Different sources are not going to have the same pricing. Competition comes into play.

I would do your research, and pick the best price you find out there. When you are getting your pricing, don't forget to ask about shipping charges too. They can be a killer.

Yeah, but I'm thinking there's at least a retail price to start with... so I'd know what's overpriced... even with cars, you'd know the "sticker" price everyone else is being quoted.

With these equipment, even the manufacturer took a lengthy time before giving me a quote on one item, then told me he'll e-mail me... or by regular mail to my address... the prices of the other equipment... like this is some national security issue...!

juts like joe said "Different sources are not going to have the same pricing. Competition comes into play.? you have to do some research and fine the best price out there.

I did LOTS of research... That's how I got so many prices to begin with...!!!

Just Thought I'd find out how much people who own these equipment might have paid for theirs...!
Maybe get some insight with companies that might be better to deal with in the longterm... maybe a higher price is the trade-off for better customer service?

It's how I shop for cars too... inquiring into dealership pricing (finding out retail and dealer invoices) AND researching customer purchases (internet and statistics) to figure out how much equipment actually get sold for.

It's actually harder to peg down statistics and averages with M & R silkscreening equipment of all things!!!

I'll find out... probably also need to ask local shops if I don't get enough answers.

Oh BTW, I appreciate you guys responding... I'm just planning on ordering the equipment by next week, so forgive me if I sound a little bit impatient ... thanks! :)
So why don't you go with the cheapest priced vendor??? The basic reason your sales rep directly from the manufacturer did not give you a price is probably because he wanted to see how much the equipment is going for from their distributors in your general area. If he were to reduce his price lower then their distributor, there could be a problem...

I also don't think your local competitors are going to let you know how much they paid for their equipment. lol I could be wrong. :)

Sometimes different dealers will offer slightly different pricing for the same equipment, especially on package deals such as the equipment you listed.
Best option is to submit your equipment list to several dealers, and shop for the best price.
Also, check crating & shipping charges, as some dealers may use these extra cost areas to make up for reducing pricing. Sometimes if you attend a trade show (or purchase right after the show saying you were there & saw the equipment), you'll get show pricing, which could be a discount, or perhaps free crating, or credit for supplies. It's all the same equipment from the same manufacturer, so go for the best price or best deal you can make. In most cases, the equipment is shipped direct from M&R, so the dealer never handles the equipment; just books the sale, and makes the profit.
