Pretreatment in the same area?

I’m a newbie thinking of getting into DTG printing. Is it okay to have your heat press near the printer in the same room? I thought I read some place on line that it isn’t good to have it near the printer because the shirt lint could get in the print head nozzles.

Thanks,
Rob

What you probably read about is pretreating. If you are spraying your pretreatment on by hand, or using an open automatic pretreater, then you must pretreat in a separate room away from the printer. You never want any pretreatment mist ever getting into your printer.

You can place a heat press near your printer without an issue.

Thanks Harry for that quick and informative reply. I know I read something, but now it was the pretreating.

Note that an enclosed automatic pretreater can be placed right next to the printer without worry since any mist should stay inside the unit.
