when we print a white tee shirt we experience problems whether we pretreat or not..
if we DO PRETREAT,
we get a sharper, cleaner, better colored print, but when we wash the item the image washes out somewhat..

if we DO NOT PRETREAT,
we get a image that seams to stay better on the garmet but doesnt look as clear and nice of an image..

what does everyone do to solve this sort of problem??

Matt if you are pretreating, you are adding more moisture to the shirt. You may want to try to cure both the pretreament AND the ink for a longer period and see if that make any difference. One way I'd recomend is to print normally as you have been, then put half the print and cure again(basically double the time) If it look better then adjust the dwell time and temp to find the best curing time. Also (very important)make sure that if you are printing on white, do not use the same pretreat that you would use for printing white ink on dark shirts.

what i have noticed after running several orders with pretreat is what Jerid said. i was using too much and while the prints looks great, they washed differently than the unpretreated shirts. so now i'm backing off on the amount of pretreat and the prints still look great. my unscientific guess would be that you could get away with using half the amount of light garment pretreat that you would normally use on a dark garment with white ink pretreat.
