I know this sounds like a total noob question and can't believe I'm having to ask after being a graphic artist for the apparel industry for 15 years.

What is the definition of preprint? Or pre print.

Here's the context in which it was used today in an email to me. A customer/former employer asked if I'd be interested in doing a few designs for him along a certain theme. I said, "yes" and he said, "good, I'd like to get some preprint stuff going on."

Now I'm all hung up about what he wants me to do exactly…

Well it makes perfect sense to me that anything done before printing is…preprint. Just wondering why he used the word/s.

you have a preprint line.. It is called Island Fever and it is some great stuff.. the person that contacted you would like break into the preprint business.. hopefully not using your art to compete with you..LOL
