Hey y'all,

I, too, am in the beginning stages of starting my tee biz which will be geared towards maternity mommas. I stumbled across this site doing a search for fabric terminology and I have learned SO much. I see that other people are also on the search for blank maternity tees like myself. I can't believe they're so hard to find and that the few out there are so expensive. I think I'm going to have the shirts made in the US at a local manufacturer. Currently I'm tracking down fabric suppliers so if anyone has any sources to recommend I'd really appreciate it.

It's good to see there are a few of you doing this. I just had my last baby otherwise I would be a future customer :)
It is so frustrating trying to find fashionable good quality Ts to wear during pregnancy - I ended up mostly getting large sizes of surfie brands (tend to be longer) but that only works if you are small like me and towards the end of pregnancy it still shows off a few too many lumps and bumps.
If it is any help, I would vote for a style similar to the Michael Stars pregnancy Ts. Great cut, but *boring* Ts.

Thanks for your vote for the Michael Stars tees. I have been acquiring samples from various makers (old navy, gap, dharma trade, etc.) in order to get an idea of the cut. What was it about the Michael Stars shirt that you liked?

I am in the same boat, only I am pregnant right now. I have always wanted to have shirts that reflected my additude about pregnancy. Very few lines are made by people that have actually been pregnant (at least it seems that way). I am focused on jeans with a few choice tanks, tees, etc to go with them.
I am looking to launch Yummy Mama the maternity division of Yummy Luxe Couture by clothing line and company.
I will not be making custom maternity shirts unless they are requested by my customers.

If you find maternity at a good price let me know (I am SOOO desparate).....

Oops sorry I thought I had replied to this one way back when... What I liked about the Michael Stars shirt in particular was that it was fitting in the tummy area in later pregnancy, while still being cut wide in the hip area (hmm not sure that makes sense). It was good to have a shirt which would show off my belly without showing off the extra weight around the hips also.

But actually, the shirt I wore the most was not a pregnancy T. It was a Roxy size large cotton T in baby rib (nice and stretchy without needing clingy lycra). It was cut extra long so I didn't have to expose my midsection if I didn't want to :)

Thanks Rodney and Lucy. Its going to be fun :)

Hmmm?
I have two girls, 8 and 6 and I could not imagine having another baby in the house. My 6 year old is so stubborn, she wears us out. My brother had two girls and when they were 15 and 18 he remarried and his new wife wanted a baby. So at 45 he had his third child. Could not imagine.

I have a 13 year old niece and 2 year old nephew, just watching my parents, sister and brother-in-law take care of them, makes me tired...*whew*, I'm single and can't imagine having a child right now...While my sister was giving birth to her son, I was in pain just watching her push...aye! I'm 33 years old and have now started living my life...I tip my hat's off to momma's and dada's...

There's even added stress on anyone with girls. Girls can get even more mean than boys at school and jockying for position in certain cliques starts early. We're not even to the teen years and seeing what our teenage babysitter wears is scary. Boys still look like teens while the girls that develop early can throw on makeup and looks much older. :(
