which direction are you rolling? app tape in or out?

I have a decal thats needs sending its
600mm x 64mm
Thought the best method would be to put it in a postal tube but when i roll it up the application tape comes away from the backing paper in places and then crinkles.
am i doing something wrong?
I know that people send decals in postal tubes but is there a certain method

app tabe inside, backing paper on the outside
just tried and the same thing happened.
Basically where the vinyl is, when u roll it that part wants to stay flat and when u roll it that part make it square ao the app tape comes away
