Can you recommend specific brands of backing used for embroidering polyester shirts?

I would suggest a combination of weblon backing and tearaway.

We get ours from LLovet sales.

I use a no-show backing from Emblematic. I use two pieces positioned in the opposite direction.

I use 2 pieces of no show mesh on top of 1 piece of tearaway. I buy mine from Sew Many Parts because they have a location near me. I think in the new issue of Impressions magazine, there's a new backing, but can't remember who sells it.

Also, adding a piece of solve on top can prevent holes.
