Hello all, recently my wife have seen shirts in our area turning up with a very clean looking heat transfer vinyl. It is generally on spirit wear. Here is the thing. The center of the print is one color and the border is another, but the border appears slightly raised. It almost has a flock feel, but not quite. We think it's some sort of printed vinyl but don't know why the border seems a little higher than the center. The whole look is very clean. Maybe this is a common feature of printed vinyl? If you could help us learn what it is we sure would appreciate it!

I don't think so Pat. It's hard to walk up to strangers and inspect them Lol! (But most of us have). It looks like a printed vinyl. It's just that it has more depth to it, and the edges, where no ink has been applied, seem slightly raised. I was wondering if it was printed subliblock? Maybe when ink sits on subliblock that area gets "Thinner" so-to-speak? Anyway, it looks amazing. We do heat transfer and screenprinting and this is the cleanest look I have ever seen on a spiritwear item.

Not sure if I'm posting right but...I suppose it's a possibility that it's a puff vinyl? But this shirts image, was purple inside with white trim. It was for Northwestern college. I guess if puff vinyl comes in Northwestern college purple that it MIGHT have been???

Believe it or not, yesterday I called the guy who was wearing it. I asked him to bring it to my sons basketball game this weekend, in a bag, so I could inspect it better and possibly take a photo. He said that he would. Assuming he does, I will followup with a photo and perhaps an answer as to what this technique was.
