PLEASE HELP: Easiest and cheapest DIY DTG build

1838 Views 5 Replies 4 Participants Last post by  Smalzstein
Hello all! I am looking to build my first DIY DTG printer! I am very excited to do so but i have a little problem! Im not very tech-savy and i don't have a super large budget. That being said; what is the easiest printer to modify for a DTG(this takes priority over cost effectiveness)

I only need it to be CMYK, white is not a huge issue but would be welcomed!

Any and all help is appreciated!

1400 or 1100 fore CMYK only, no RIP will be needed.

But if you have problems with technical side of a build it may be hard for you to make a build. There is a reason why commercial units cost the ammount they cost.

Perhaps you may look to a cheapper commercial units like Spectra DTG?

If you want A3 size go for 1400 like said above ^
If size is not an issue go for Epson C88
what would be the most simple? c88 or 1400? and can someone inform me on what a3 and a4 means? I'm new to this and don't necessarily understand what they mean. all help is appreciated!

Hi,
sorry to have to say this to you but if you don't know the difference between A3 and A4 which are page sizes by the way, I think you need to spend a little time on the forum reading the posts.
This may seem a little harsh but it will definitely give you a better understanding of the workings of a printer and what knowledge is required to build a DIY printer.
Regards Marty
I agree with Marty, DTG requires skills which you have to aquire to make a good build. It's not as simple as it may seem.
