Hello! I am glad to be apart of this community, this is my first post on this forum or on any forums.

So let me start off by saying I have worked as a web developer for a little bit so I kinda know what I am doing. :) I have set up a website for a clothing business that me and my girlfriend have been working on for about a year now, we have incorporated and obtained all our license for doing business, but we still are not achieving the goals we want to be reaching. I have been told that my site could use some word regarding product photos, images, detail, etc. I have already put some much time into all of this and I just don't really know what else to do and have felt stuck for a month now. I'm hoping maybe some of you wonderful and helpful people can send some quick recommendations my way!

The only camera I have access to is my nexus cell phone camera and many people have told me this is one of my main problems... What are your thoughts of using your phone for product photos? Maybe I can get away with it if I upgrade my "set"?

Thank you for all the help before hand!

Please understand I am not trying to promote the site, I simply am looking for outlook on the setup outside of my group of friends. Please help! Im open to any suggestions and will not be offended by any opinions.

Hi. Many sellers use mockups rather than actual product shots to display their products but with tie-dye items this may not be a viable solution. However, even with your Nexus camera you should be able to obtain acceptable shots by using a DIY lighting setup. Youtube can be your friend here.

How do people find out about your site? You need to drive traffic somehow. Is online your only way to sell? Do you have a shop? Do you go to fairs or craft shows? You need to find a way for people looking for what your selling to find you.

Your pictures definately have lighting problems. Perhaps you could find some live models? Pretty girls and good looking guys sell products even if they don't look at all like your customers.

Have you considered using a service like Etsy? Is that popular where your at? Is there a different hand made goods type of online selling service like Etsy where your at?

I agree with jeep, etsy would be a great way to go with the products you're offering.

And the nexus definitely has a good enough camera for product photos. My favorite tip for getting good lighting is to shoot outdoors in the shade, sometimes it's a little dark but you get perfectly even lighting and white balance every time. You could even just use an app to edit your photos before posting.
