Hello, I'm new to heat pressing. Got my first order of plastisol heat transfers today. I set up I'm my living room and started pressing a few shirts. I noticed that on each time I put a transfer on the shirt, it would produce a decent amount of smoke after reopening the press and peeling the transfer. By the 5th transfer my living room was hazy and my nose, throat, and lungs were irritated to the point I had to stop, get out, and let the room air out. Is this normal or am I doing something wrong?? I'm following the directions, pretty closely for the transfer except maybe going like 2 seconds longer than it says to.
Also, is there any rule of thumb for height placement of transfer on front side and backside of shirt? thanks
Also wanted to add in case It matters. The directions were 390 degrees for 9 seconds, and 400 degrees for 12 seconds for the transfers I got.
