Hi guys... sorry for being so "unglobal"... I'm just trying to find stockists / producers in Australia and hitting brick walls.

Soooo..... does anyone know of any companies or small businesses who print plastisol transfers in Australia at a reasonable price? Any advice much appreciated - This seems to be a very sensible way to go about printing quality t-shirts in short runs, but us Aussies seem to be somewhat behind our international friends in this area ....

i thought they made plastisol transfers.

Not that I am aware of from looking at the site - they do flock transfers which I don't know much about - only that they can be ironed on...

I have been told to steer clear of iron on transfers because they don't last as long as plastisol but perhaps flock transfers are an exception?

If you use a heat press, the quality of these sorts of transfers is actually pretty good. Still not as good as a screen print (or plastisol), but they will last if done right.

As far as flock goes though, it's different. It's similar to vinyl, except that flock usually refers to more of a "felt-like" material. The quality of vinyl/flock is quite good, if properly applied with a heat press.

you get better results with Transfers (plural) and Custom in the key search. See at #8 the one i was talking about:

if you try Australia only, you get even more. Never heard of any of them but plastisol is plastisol. lol

Not really; if I had any recommendations for local transfer printers I'd've said something before now. While I am aware there are some (I imagine there are heaps in fact), since I haven't (yet) needed to get any transfers printed I don't have any experience with any specific printer.

Just about every local screenprinter I know anything about is someone I know personally, rather than a disinterested third party. Even then, I wouldn't recommend any of them as such (insufficient first hand experience of their work).

yep.
they have it pretty much covered as far as plastisol goes. 2006/07 style.
They lack in the Deco Transfer materias (cutter) colors and textures but if plastisol is what you're looking for, good resource Rodney.

...but always ask for and test samples before you order.

good point, I missed that.
I guess the reason some transfer makers set their minimums HIgh is because of the equipment they use..... the Set-up to run the job may have something to do with it.
