Pigmented inks?

Do yourself a big favor DO NOT BUY A LEXMARK PRINTER!!!!! Pigment inks are plastic based inks that attache themselves by heat to the tee when pressed. Dye based inks are just that, dyes. Dyes can run, bleed, fade. Here are reason people buy a printer.. 1. I own an HP computer I need to buy an HP printer.. WRONG! All printer work with any computer!
2. The salesman said this was the best printer... Wrong! Is he commissioned? His boss told him to sell those printers.
3. I need to buy extra inks with my printer because the saleman said the inks that come with the printer are only samples and are not full.. Wrong.. I know for a fact that HP and Epson come with full ink cartridges. When I worked for Epson and was stationed at local Best Buy the manager told me if I did not push extra ink and service contracts they would ask for a different rep. I didn't and I was the longest rep they had at that store. I sold more printers than HP, canon and Lexmark reps because I knew how the machines worked and the benifits of the Epson. I even had customers come back to the store and tell the manager they were greatful for the information. When I decided to leave Epson the store offered me a job. I told the manager that that was the last place I would work because I did not like them telling the employess to lie to customers.

I have an interest in buying a quality pigmented ink for printing my own tshirt transfers and this is where I am right now. It sounds like the way to go for transfer paper is with transjet II paper which also goes by other names, a newer one called miracool has just caught my attention. Two sets of inks that are high on the list are spectrbright which is thru jblgraphics.com and magicmix thru personalized supplies.com. I am leaning toward spectrabright as how had a slight problem with the other site. The way it sounds many people are using all kinds of inks and printers for transfers, which just leads to the confusion. Some say that with the right transfer paper the durabrite ink that comes with epsons are used, another ink, ultrachrome, is also used. Toner, used in laser printers, is also being used. Totally confusing! I have gained a couple Epson C88 with some good deals thru ebay, just waiting for the right time. It will only output an 8 1/2 x 11, but it is the cheapest way to get started for me. Printers are a whole other story - I have been leaning toward Epson as how I wanted to do dye sublimation in the future and Epson printers are the only one that handle that ink.
