Hi All!

Been searching the web for answers on whether or not it's possible to replace the original dye inks with pigment ink in the Canon ix6550.

Some say it's not, and some say WHY wouldn't it? But I haven't really read anything on anyone actually trying it out. Will the printheads go nuts or what?

Bought the printer for a cheap quality A3 solution. Now learning more about transfer printing, I know Pigment is key.

(Also since one of the two black is actually Pigment based, could I select to use only that one when printing?)

Thanks in advance!

If the printer doesn't come with pigment inks, the cartridges won't be compatible. Also, don't try mixing inks; it will turn to a gel.
Thanks for your reply. I've been doing some additional research on this, and also discussing this with Martin on OctoInk, who says it's kind of a big risk to take, since the printheads would probably clog and fry.

Guess I'll stick with using dye ink for now.
