Hello everybody,

my name is basti and i´m from germany
i have a problem with pigment migration. i use plastisol ink from manoukian. and when i print for example red ink and white underbase ink. after washing the red ink goes a little bit in the white underbase ink. i don´t know whats the issue. i cure with a tunnel dryer. the ink won´t crack after washing so i think it´s cured but why does the red ink goes into the white ink?
The garment is 100% cotton
i hope you could help me.

many greets from germany
Im having the exact same problem. someone please help
this could be because the red ink is not opaque enough to cover the white or on an other word the deposit of red ink is very thin or the other problem could be that you are not flashing long enough the under base and when you put red on top of fresh white the inks get mixed you could even end up with a red that looks pink.

This is called crocking. The red ink doesn’t fully adhere to the white allowing the bleeding. This is due to the pigment content in the ink. Union use to be bad with red, ever since the reformulation to non phthalate has been much better. Mixing a extender (clear plastisol) fixes this. A reducer will also but thins the ink and some of the red inks are already thin enough.

Also some inks do not adhere if over flashed.

when i wash the shirt, the white and the red are there, but during the drying cycle, the shirt tumbles and when the red touches the white, it'll transfer pigment onto the white areas it touches.
